Ireland 2017

With my Brother, Michael, before playing  a Celtic Themed Mass at St. Mary's Church in Gloucester City, NJ March 2016.

I have been a member of the Next Generation of Irish Music for the past 10 years. The group practices and learns at the Philadelphia Irish Center once a month during the school year. The rotating group of young people has performed for the New Jersey Folk Festival, the Please Touch Museum, the Annual Ceili Group Festival in Philadelphia, and many other venues.

Experience

I have played at many Traditional Irish Music sessions throughout the Philadelphia and New Jersey region. I have performed in my school plays and many private events involving my school's activities. I  have played at Ceili Dances for the Philadelphia Irish Society, South Jersey Irish Society, New Castle County Irish Society and also several Irish civic groups. I have played with McDermott's Handy for the performance of the Irish Show, "Bound for Amerikay!" at the Cape May Convention Hall Music Center for the Cape May Music Festival. I have also played at many private parties and events throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

My Irish Style

I like to present Traditional Irish Music in an intimate setting. I have honed my style of play and continue to grow through the experience of meeting, playing and learning from some of the best Irish Traditional Music artists around today.  I have also spent much time with some of the Philadelphia areas best Ceili Band performers learning the craft of playing for Irish Ceili and Set dancers.

I have been playing Traditional Irish Music for the past 11 years. I have studied and learned the great tradition of Irish music from Kathy DeAngelo, Dennis Gormley and Timothy Carroll. I have also attended several Irish Musician Master classes with many great artists including; Rose Conway-Flanagan, Brian Conway, John Carty, Dylan Foley, Oisin Mac Diarmada, Patrick Orceau,  Liz Carroll, Kevin Burke, Brendan Mulvihill, and many others.  Each year I set aside up to three weeks or more to study music in week-long festivals or music schools in order to continue to grow and mature my Irish fiddle style.

My first influence in music has been my dad, who plays alternate tuning guitar for Traditional Irish Music.  Many Irish musicians throughout the  Philadelphia Irish community continue to inspire me, and  I have been attending Traditional Irish Music sessions throughout the greater Philadelphia area. Playing music with friends and family for the past eight years has lead to many great journeys along the way!

I currently attend Gloucester Catholic High School

SCHEDULE BELOW

I have been fortunate to give to others.

During the year, I schedule small performance concerts for assisted living centers in our area. I feel that this is a nice way to give the joy of music to people that might not be able to seek it out due to their living situation. I started doing this after learning how much it meant to an elderly relative that is a member of an assisted living community.
